Let me tell you, I used to be constantly stressed and I really mean all the time. I was constantly on edge. I was constantly fixating on the things that might go wrong, always worrying about every aspect of my life and I can’t even begin to tell you how exhausting it was.

When we let stress take over and control our lives, it can easily take so much toll on our mental health and not to mention how overbearing and emotionally debilitating it can be.

But still, regardless of how much we hate stressing ourselves out, we can’t help it.

But then, we meet someone. Someone who always seems to be so calm and zen regardless of what’s happening in their lives.

And we end up thinking, how do they do it? I mean, is that even possible? To achieve that level of calmness?

Yes, it’s definitely is. The thing about stress is, we can learn how to not let it take over our lives.

And I realized that the people who are like these, share similar habits that help them remain calm no matter what life hands them.

Scroll down below to see the 20 HABITS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE NEVER STRESSED.

They accept the fact that they cannot control everything – trying to control every aspect of your life will only cause you so much stress. It’s best to accept the fact that there are just things that are beyond control. We just can’t control everything and that’s perfectly okay.

They meditate – meditation can be life-changing! It allows you to welcome your thoughts and worries without letting them take over.

They are grateful – practicing gratitude will help you focus on the good things that you have instead of the things that you lack.

They get outside – it could be to exercise or to just even take a short walk.

They practice self-care – practicing self-care is a great tool in helping you de-stress and recharge.

They know that failure and making mistakes is not a bad thing – when we constantly try to do everything perfectly, not leaving ourselves any room for mistakes, we are only setting ourselves up for so much stress.

They make their mental health a priority.

They know how to ask for help – often, some people get so stressed out because they try to do everything. Remember that it’s okay to ask for help.

They know how to say no – remember that it’s okay to say no and prioritize your needs.

They know how to take a break.

They practice mindful breathing – try this, for 10 mins, do nothing, and just focus on your breathing.

They are kind to themselves – there’s no point in beating yourself up. It will only increase your stress and make you feel bad. Learn to be gentle with yourself.

They disconnect from work – I learned this the hard way. I used to constantly stress about work even when I wasn’t there. Doing this only made me more miserable and it kept me from enjoying my life.

They get enough sleep.

They eat healthily.

They talk about what they are feeling – keeping your emotions bottled up will not do you any good. It will only harm your mental health and cause you so much stress.

They exercise.

They do not obsess over something they can’t change – dwelling on your mistakes and failure will not fix things. It only causes stress.

They don’t over-analyze everything – they don’t pick every little thing apart and constantly look for problems or possible things that could go wrong on everything.

They are mindful and they are present – they don’t rush over life and just go through everything on autopilot. They try to be mindful and they pay attention to the present.

It’s time to take control and to let stress take over our lives. So, let’s start building these habits into our daily lives to help us remain calm, stress-free, and be happier!
