When everything keeps on falling apart, when things aren’t always going your way or when you are seeing zero to little changes, motivating yourself to push forward may not be the easiest thing to do. You often think that reaching your goal at this time is really not possible and then you give up or you just settle- even though you know that you can do more.  Most of us end up thinking that giving up would be a lot easier than motivating ourselves to push forward. I get it; I understand how difficult it is to push ourselves when we are showered with a lot of challenges. I’ve been down that road and it took a while for me to stand up and decide that I needed to take my life back.

And I admit, I still even sometimes stumble down that path, but the only difference now is, I don’t let myself stay on that same spot and neither should you! I’ve gathered the best 5 simple tips to motivate yourself even on the most difficult days. Read on to see the list.

Ask yourself, why you are doing this in the first place.

Every time you feel like giving up, every time you feel that it’s better to stop and just settle, ask yourself why you even started doing that thing in the first place. Why you chose to push yourself or do something else. Like in my case, every time I think that blogging is not for me and that I should focus on something else, I ask myself this question and it makes me realize the reason why I started blogging in the first place, and that is to inspire and try to help other people going through the same situations, same problems as I ‘am and for me to really start living instead of just merely existing. The answer to your “why” question will always lead to you realizing how badly you want it or how badly you need it.

Appreciate yourself even when you stumble

The pathto achieving our goals is never easy, challenges and difficulties will always come our way, and we may not always have the perfect solution to battle them and we end up making a mistake, if you don’t learn how to be kind to yourself for each mistake that you make – you will end up dragging yourself down. Don’t be your self’s enemy, other’s make mistakes so why should you be any difference. Remember those mistakes that you do will not define you; it’s what you do about it that matters. So learn to celebrate even your smallest milestones and keep on learning from your mistakes.

Focus on the benefits, not on the challenges

Oftentimes, the reason why you end up giving up is that because you focus all your energy on how difficult everything is or that achieving your goal is impossible. And that’s normal, it’s always too easy to think and focus on the difficulties but the trick there is to not get caught up on that thinking. Learn to shift it to the positive side. So instead of thinking how difficult it is, start thinking how great it will feel after you do it; instead of focusing on the challenges, start focusing on the rewards that you will reap after doing it.

Stop comparing yourself to others

We all have different journeys, someone success could be the other one’s failure. Some may reach their goals right away while others could take a little more time but it doesn’t mean that the rewards and fulfillment that they get is lesser – it could even be more.  So instead of comparing yourself to other’s success learn to compare yourself to yourself, be the best version of you and incorporate that version in everything that you do, you will surely see great things unfold before you. Life is not a race, walk your own path, something wonderful is waiting for you.

Have courage

Things will get tough, you will face challenges and difficulties and you may stumble a thousand times. If that happens, pick yourself up, know what you did wrong and have the courage to push yourself to move forward. Don’t allow yourself to be stuck just because you’re too afraid. Have that courage to fulfill those great things that you are capable of doing.

Stop telling yourself that you still have so much to do, or how far you still have to go before achieving your goals, instead think about the days where you felt like giving up but you choose to push through, look at how far you have gotten and how many challenges you have conquered to get there.
