Being grateful, staying positive, and being hopeful is not easy to do especially if you’re going through tough times and life keeps knocking you down over and over again – not even giving you a chance to breathe.

This year pretty much feels like that for me, and maybe for you too. This year has been eye-opening, painful and it made me realize that regardless of how much time and effort we spend on controlling the course of our lives, there will always be unexpected speed bumps and turns that are beyond our control.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve woken up feeling like a failure like everything I do is wrong. I felt so hopeless and so unhappy.

It’s like every day, I’ve grown accustomed to waking up blaming myself, criticizing myself for every bad decision, and telling myself that things will only go from bad to worse.

Yes, life is hard. It’s messy, painful, and confusing but I realized that regardless of how difficult some days can be, we should not allow ourselves to focus only on the bad and the negative — because doing this does not help, as a matter of fact, it just makes things worse. We have to learn to let go of negativity.

Even if we are going through a difficult and painful season, we should still allow ourselves to be hopeful, grateful, and find the good in the little things.

And this is where daily affirmations for self-love come in.

I was never a big believer in reciting daily affirmations to help improve my mood and better my day but after trying it, I tell you, it is like a breath of fresh air.

Repeating positive affirmations allowed me to see things from a different perspective. It reminds me that there is hope of things getting better and that I can still be happy.

And I want to share it with you, to help remind you that things will be better, you can do this and you can be happy.
