What is the self-love challenge?

For the next thirty days, you will be given different tasks and challenges that are designed to help you be kinder to yourself, accept yourself completely and love yourself unconditionally.

These tasks will not only help you connect with yourself but will also help drastically boost your confidence and self esteem.

30 Day Love Yourself Challenge Guidelines:

Before we dive into this 30 day self love challenge, I want to leave you with this first. Some of the tasks here may be a little difficult for you to finish in just a day, don’t make yourself feel bad for not finishing them.

Remember that this challenge was not designed for you to feel pressured or add more stress to your life.

Work at your own pace. If you fall behind then that’s 100% okay. If you missed a day, you don’t have to make up for it. Give yourself some grace and just start where you left off.

The important thing here is to keep going. Be consistent and be proud of yourself for taking the first step into your self love journey!

30 Day Self Love Challenge Day 1: Start A Self Love Journal

A self love journal is a great way for you to connect with yourself on a much deeper level. It increases your self-awareness and self-compassion which ultimately impacts your confidence and self-love.

To help you get started, here are some self love journal prompts that you can answer.

Day 2: Positive Affirmations

Start your day with Positive Affirmations. Doing this will help reframe your negative thoughts and boost your confidence.

You can create at least three self love affirmations that will resonate with you or you can choose from this list of self love affirmations. Once you have the affirmations that you want to use. Write them down or print them and attach them to something that you will see often.

The key here is to be consistent. Really commit yourself to say these affirmations until you have completed this challenge and see the difference!

Day 3: Compliment Yourself

When was the last time you complimented yourself? Today, write at least five compliments for yourself. Once you have them written down, look at yourself in the mirror and say these compliments out loud. Remember that you are amazing and that you deserve to know that.

Day 4: Sit With Your Feelings

I have always believed that sitting with your emotions and allowing yourself to really feel is a form of self love.

When you don’t run away from your negative emotions and instead of bottling them up, you allow yourself to feel them and sit with them, you are opening yourself up to healing and growth.

Ask yourself this: How have you been feeling lately?

Be honest with your answer. Allow yourself to open up and be vulnerable. Cry. Scream if you must. It’s time to set yourself free and start your journey towards healing.

Day 5: Say No

How often do you say yes to things that you really didn’t want to do just to please other people? It’s time to start creating healthy boundaries. Today, only say yes to things that you really want to do and remind yourself that saying no is not a bad thing.

Day 6: Take Yourself Out On A Date

Taking yourself out on a date is a great way to boost your confidence. It’s empowering and it gives you this sense of freedom in knowing that you don’t always have to rely on anybody to have a good time. You can enjoy your own company.

Day 7: Celebrate Your Wins

Write at least three things that you have achieved today. Remember that there is no achievement that is too small. Celebrate all your wins big and small. Be proud of how far you’ve come. Be proud of all the small steps that you have been taking every day to improve your life.

Day 8: Write at least ten things that you love about yourself.

Often, we are so focused on all our flaws and our shortcomings that we end up taking all the wonderful things about ourselves for granted.

It’s time to acknowledge them. Write down all your strengths. What do you love about your personality? What about your mind? Your appearance?

Day 9: Meditate

Meditation can have tremendous benefits to your mental health and well-being. It grounds you, helps reframe your mind, and allows you to reconnect yourself.

Try doing this for at least 15-30 minutes every day until you complete this challenge.

Day 10: Learn To Forgive Yourself

What mistakes are you still holding onto? Remind yourself that you as much as anybody else, deserve forgiveness. There’s no sense holding on to these mistakes and punishing yourself over and over again.

Yes, take responsibility for them, learn from them but also, forgive yourself.

Repeat this to yourself: I Forgive Myself and I Set Myself Free.

Day 11: List 10 Things You Are Grateful For in Your Life

This one is pretty straightforward. You can do this in the morning or before you go to bed. Think of all the things that you are grateful for, small and big.

If you can, do this practice daily until you finish this challenge.

Day 12: Do Something That You Are Good At and Really Enjoy Doing

It could be creating art, or running. It could basically be anything that shows your strength and talent. Doing this will help you acknowledge just awesome you are!

Day 13: Create A Self-Care Routine

Self care is not selfish. I truly believe that Self care is survival. Making self care a part of your daily routine can help drastically reduce stress and increase happiness.

Here’s a great resource to help you create the perfect self-care routine for you.

Day 14: Move Your Amazing Body

Do an exercise that you enjoy. You can go for a jog, run or even just go for a walk. You can do anything that’ll help you get moving.

Recognize the importance of your health and start committing to doing something every day that’ll benefit your overall health and well-being.

Day 15: Time For Self Care

If you have already completed the challenge from day 13, it’s time to start practicing that self-care routine. Today, carve out at least 30 minutes off your day and dedicate it for self care.

Don’t feel guilty for doing this. Remind yourself that putting yourself and your needs first from time to time is not a bad thing. Doing this will not only help you recharge but it will also help you come back stronger and more motivated.

And remember, don’t feel guilty for doing this. You deserve it.

Day 17: Get Outside

Connect with nature. Spend some time outside without looking at your phone and appreciate the beauty around you. It could be as simple as going for a walk. The important thing is to be mindful and present while doing this.

Day 18: Recognize How Far You’ve Come

Write at least ten hard things that you overcame. Doing this will help you acknowledge just how capable and strong you are.

This will remind you, especially during the times when you feel like you’re life is falling apart, that you have within you such invaluable strength that will help you go through the dark and tough times.

Day 19: Do A Digital Detox

While Social Media definitely has its benefits, using it excessively can also affect your mental health negatively.

So, today stay away from any social media. Use this time away to spend some time with the people that you love or do something relaxing. You can also try to use this time to pick up a good book.

Day 20: Love The Skin You’re In

Write at least five compliments about your body and appearance. Once you have written these compliments, look at yourself in the mirror and say them out loud.

Celebrate the body you’re in. Be thankful for it for carrying you through thick and thin.

Are your negative thoughts holding you back and keeping you unhappy? Often, we may not realize it, but our negative thoughts can greatly sabotage our lives and happiness.

Most of us are guilty of constantly putting ourselves down but what we don’t realize is that doing this is also taking so much toll on our mental health and self-confidence.

And if every time you’re feeling low and you’re struggling with self doubt, grab that letter and read it.

Day 29: Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help

Before this challenge end, I want you to know that there is nothing wrong with asking for help, especially if you are struggling. Reach out to someone you trust or find someone that you are comfortable talking to.

Remember that asking for help doesn’t make you look weak. It doesn’t diminish your strength or value. It’s just that sometimes we go through difficult things that are just too much for us to bear alone and we need someone to pull us back and ground us – there’s definitely nothing wrong with that.

Day 30: Thank Yourself

This is the last day of our 30 day self love challenge. You’ve made it. Be proud of what you have achieved. You kept going and you took the first step in helping you love yourself more.

Spend this last day reflecting. See how the challenges made you feel and look at how far you’ve come since day one. Thank yourself for sticking with this challenge and for learning to start prioritizing yourself.

30 Day Self Love Challenge: Final Thoughts

Know that this is just the beginning of your journey. I have always believed that self love has no endpoint. We are constantly changing. Constantly growing and there will always be parts of ourselves that we get insecure off. There will always be moments that will cause us to doubt ourselves and what we are capable of.

The important thing is to keep coming back. If you’ve criticized yourself or started comparing yourself, don’t beat yourself up for doing it. Breathe. Know that we are all a work in progress and what matters is we keep working towards our self love journey.

Use this 30 day self love challenge as your guide. What were the activities here that you’ve found the most helpful to your journey? Keep doing it. Commit to it and if you fall behind just keep coming back.

Remember that you are enough. You are worthy and I send so much happiness, love, and peace your way.
